Is registration required?

Yes. This is a registration-only event. Registration is online only.

When will registration open?

May 1st through June 14th, providing space is available.

How do I register?

Here, beginning May 1st.

What is the grade requirement for Kids Camp?

Children must be entering kindergarten through 5th grade.

How are the grades organized for camp?

Two grades per range: Entering K/1st; Entering 2nd/3rd; Entering 4th/5th

What if my child is eligible to enter Kindergarten but is attending preschool this coming school year?

Unfortunately, due to limited space, children entering preschool, including UPK,  are NOT eligible for Kids Camp, even if they are turning 5 this fall.

How do I register to be with a friend?

You may request to be together if you are the same ‘team’ grade as your friend. (ie. Kindergarten & 1st or 2nd & 3rd or 4th & 5th), may be together.

To be together, you need to know which group your friend is choosing, choose the same group, and be eligible for that group based on grade. This must happen at the time of registration.

Once you’ve submitted your registration, no changes can be made.

How will I know what group my child is registered in?

On the registration link, when asked to enter the child’s information, you will be asked to pick a grade range, and within that grade range, you will choose which group letter you want. The grade range and group letter are what you want to share with your child’s friend.

Can my older child move down a grade group to be with a younger sibling/family member/friend? Can my younger child move up to be with an older sibling/family member/friend?

We understand that, as a parent, you want your children to have a fun and memorable experience with their friends and siblings at Kids Camp. We share your enthusiasm for creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all the children.

Each age group has its own activities and lessons, so we can’t accept older children into younger groups. This means 3rd graders can’t join 4th or 5th graders, and 2nd graders can’t join younger kids. We want your children to have the best time possible, with appropriate age-appropriate activities. Thanks for understanding, and we can’t wait to see your kids at camp!

Will I be able to see the names of other children registered when I sign up my child?

No.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel by sending an email to kidscamp@sharethehope.org

Financial policy regarding sick children and refunds

  • If your child cannot attend the full week of camp due to illness or injury and a doctor’s note is provided, a full refund will be given.
  • Partial refunds are not given. No refunds will be given once a child attends the first day of camp, even if they are sent home due to illness.
  • A “no show” to camp will not be given a refund or receive prorated fees.

CRUCIAL DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP INFORMATION PACKETS

Information Packets customized for your campers will be mailed two weeks before the start of camp to the address you provided when you registered. Child safety is crucial to us. Thank you for reading, understanding, and abiding by these rules.

Your Drop-off Time:

Time will be assigned in your packet – between 8:45 and 9 AM.

Drop-off Procedure

Parent/guardian will drop child(ren) off by driving through a drop-off area with signage assigned by grade and checking in with a volunteer. The drop-off location will be based on the youngest child in the family. Older children will then be escorted to their first area by a volunteer once inside.

A child can only be dropped off at camp with the proper registration ID tag provided in your registration packet.

Pick-Up Time

Noon

Pick Up Procedure:

  • You need to know your child’s group letter.

  1. Parents will park. Once parked, parents will wait behind a line away from the building while final head counts are completed.

  2. Once clear, a security/parking volunteer will announce to parents which grades are cleared for pick-up, and you will be allowed to enter the building to pick up your child from inside the building. The pick-up area will noted in your registration packet. Once inside, proceed to your child’s area and look for the assigned pick-up location marked by their group letter.

  3. If you have multiple children to pick up, you must walk to each area with your family security code and pick each child up.

  4. Each child is securely identified with a nametag and will not be released without the family security code.

  • The authorized adult must show the proper security tag that matches the child’s ID tag. You can even take a picture of the security number to share with multiple pick-up persons, ensuring that only authorized individuals can collect your child.

What if I am going to carpool with another family?

For drop off:  Please be sure you have all the check-in information, including the child’s name tag and window sign for the friend’s children. Check-in will not be completed without this information.   If you need a second set, please make a copy.

For Pick Up:  Please be sure you have the group letter and proper security tag (or picture of security tag on your phone) for all children.

Can I pick my child up early or drop them off late due to appointments?

No. There is no early pick-up or late drop-off; this policy has no exceptions. If you arrive at Hope to pick up your child, other than for an emergency, you will be asked to wait in the church foyer.

What is a typical small group?

A small group is up to 25 children (based on grade), with 2 to 3 adults supervising the group.  One of those leaders is your child’s main Small Group Leader and will be with your child’s group each day. Each leader has one to two helpers.

Because of the nature of the camp, there are no low-ratio activities or one-to-one providers for children that may have a more enjoyable experience in a smaller group with less children.

What will a typical day include?

Groups will rotate to different activity stations, both indoors and outdoors. The children rotate as a small group with their leader, throughout the morning. One of these rotations will be snack time.

Snacks:  A daily snack will be served.   Please see the snack and allergy information below.

Will my child stay in the same group each day?

Yes  All children will stay with the same Small Group and with the same Small Group leaders all week.

Does my child need to pass a health screen to attend?

Children attending camp must pass the health screen which can is  here.

Will First Aid attendants be on site?

Yes, there will be a First Aid station for minor cuts and bruises.

Can my child bring medication to camp?

Only emergency medication, such as an inhaler or an Epi-Pen that is needed for nonfood-related emergencies, such as seasonal allergies is allowed. Medication must be listed on the registration form.

If you forgot to list the medication or need to update your medical information, please email kidscamp@sharethehope.org with the subject “Medical Update”. If it is during camp week, please call the main office at 723-4673 x 143

Children arriving with medication not listed on the registration form will be re-routed to a different check-in area, delaying check-in for that family.

Snack Allergy Information:

We do our best to provide snacks that are allergen-free. Snacks served are stated on packaging to be allergen-free of peanut, tree nut, dairy, milk, and gluten-free. The snack may be manufactured in a facility that manufactures peanut, tree nut, dairy, milk, and/or gluten.

Food labels will be provided 3 weeks prior to the start of camp on the website. If your child has a food allergy, please read the ingredients on the labels provided. It is important to discuss food allergy concerns prior to the start of camp. If you have any questions/concerns after reading the labels, please email kidscamp@sharethehope.org at least one whole week prior to the start of camp. A first aid volunteer will reach out to talk about your child’s specific situation.

Child Illness or injury during camp:

A child will be taken to the First Aid station, where an attendant will administer First Aid. The parents will be called. In the event of illness, the child must be picked up.

If your child presents any symptoms from the health screen during the camp day, the parent/guardian will be called to pick up the child. To return, the child must be symptom-free for 24 hours.

We ask that you have someone on call each day who is immediately available so they can pick up a child within 20 minutes or less of being contacted.

Outdoor safety

Children are welcome to bring a water bottle (preferably a disposable water bottle), which should be labeled with their name. Please note that any items your child brings with them will be their responsibility for the length of the camp day. Water is provided throughout the day and at snack time.

Sneakers or rubber-soled shoes are required so that a child can run safely. Socks are required due to land inflatables. If a child wears sandals or flip-flops, that will likely restrict them from safely participating in the outdoor games.

Sun Screen:  Due to the outdoor activities. We highly recommend you apply sunscreen to your child each morning.

Will there be security on campus?

We will have Hope volunteers trained in basic emergency situations and parking volunteers. Both groups are there to assist with overall safety during camp hours.

Will the building be open during camp hours?

No. Access to the building & grounds will be restricted to Hope staff and volunteers only. Members of the public will not have access.

We’ve got a super fun and totally free activity for your campers and your family to enjoy during camp. It’s called Family Night, and it’s all about creating amazing memories together. So grab your parents and siblings and get ready for an awesome time! We’ll give you all the details when you get to camp.
